Demolition of 18 no. high rise accommodation blocks over a 5 year period (commencing in 2000) within the residential area of Castle Vale, Birmingham.
The project involved the demolition of high rise buildings, utilising high reach machines. Strict control was required for the remote demolition techniques used on the demolition of the buildings; site boundary and dust control measures were also required to ensure protection to the local residents and pedestrians.
The project was valued in excess of £9 million, and the work was carried out over a period of 5 years.
The continuation of our employment had Ministerial approval, we provided work to the local community, and established recycling of all demolition arising through local amenities.
Through our hard work and efforts we achieved bronze awards in Considerate Constructor and Castle Vale's Contractor Of The Year Award For Innovation.
