There was nothing Victorian about the manner in which Specialist Teams from Ron Hull Demolition Ltd set about the demolition of the former Crinoline House for the Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council reducing the thirty years old Building to 5,000 tons of rubble to be processed at the Groups Mangham 80 multi-million pounds Recycling Centre Building just a mile and a half away. The Group operate a zero-to-landfill policy, so absolutely everything will be recycled, nothing will be wasted.

Ron Hull Environmental Team emptied the Building of Asbestos containing materials prior to Demolition which was completed in one continuous weekend operation over a period of 36 hours only. This window was fixed by the Client because of the need to close the adjacent Centenary Way, a main road artery into and out of the Town for the minimum time possible.

The demolition of the seven storey, eighty feet high, reinforced concrete structure was accomplished in a top down manner, employing a progressive fragmentation, breaking up the concrete and cutting the steel as work progresses utilizing two number high reach demolition machines, with concrete cracker attachments, located at either end of the Building.

Prior to demolition taking place, Ron Hull Demolition Ltd's Specialist Team put measures in place to protect "live" services, including a Gas Main, located directly adjacent to the Building. 

The demolition works were completed well inside the programme, without accident or incident and traffic was again flowing on Centenary Way very early on Monday morning.
